On Sunday, the government took the decision of extending the lockdown in the capital city till May 31, as per the local media reports.
As per a notification that has been released by the federal government the lockdown has been extended until the 31st of this month, the construction sector and other related businesses with this sector have been given exemption from the lockdown, as they will now be operating under the provided SOPs.
In the initial opening phase, plastic pipe, steel, paint industries, electronic equipments have been opened, while the hardware and sanitary shops would also remain open.
Furthermore, the shops in the small markets will remain open under the SOPs for 5 days per week, while tennis courts and parks will also be allowed to remain open with compliance with the provided guidelines.
General grocery item shops, flour mills, fruits and vegetable shops, bakeries, and meat shops will be allowed to operate throughout the week from 9:00 am in the morning to 5:00 pm.
All the major shopping malls, academic institutions, hotels, and large restaurants of the federal capital and in the neighboring areas will remain closed.
