It has been decided by the Federal Cabinet that it will reduce the prices of 89 medicines. These medicines include lie-saving drugs. The prices of the 89 medicines will be reduced by 15% effective immediately. The aim of this step is to provide relief to the people.
Special Assistant on Health Zafar Mirza briefed the media persons about the cabinet meeting decisions in Islamabad. Mirza said that the prices are decreased under Medicine Pricing Policy 2018.
As per the Special Assistant, the Prime Minister has directed to review the medicine policy within two months. The National Medicine Policy is prepared under which the pharmaceutical sector is to be regularized.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information was answering a question when she said that the cabinet has completely rejected to remove the PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz’s name from the Exit Control List with consensus.
There were 24 cases that were presented before the cabinet regarding the inclusion and removal of names of various people from ECL. The cabinet approved placement of 4 names on ECL and removal of 8 names from the list. In 8 eight cases, the decision was deferred. As per Awan, there will be a single uniform law in Pakistan without any exceptions.
A special financial package to facilitate people living along the Line of Control in Azad Kashmir has been approved by the cabinet, as per the Special Assistant. There are 33,498 families, who are direct victims of Indian firing along LOC. 5,000 rupees on a quarterly basis under this package will be given to them.
She also said that the cabinet approved the one-time import of polio finger marker from India on the suggestion of the World Health Organization.
