The chairman of the tax collection body of the country reiterated that every citizen owning a car above 1000 cc and a house measuring 500 square yards or above is required to file tax returns.
The Chairman of Federal Board of Revenue, through a tweet, said: “FBR reiterates that every person owning a car above 1000 cc and a house measuring 500 sq. yards or above is mandatorily required to file return of income irrespective of having any taxable income during the year.”
The chairman, while urging the people to avail the extension, said that the panel actions will be taken against the delinquents.

Earlier, on November 29, the authorities of the tax collection body had extended the deadline for filing of the income tax returns for the tax year of 2019 to the 16th of December.
The officials of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said earlier that the individuals and “associations of persons” who were required to file the tax returns of their income for the tax year of 2019 first by September 30 and then by an extended deadline of November 30. People who haven’t filed their tax returns by November will now be able to file their income tax returns by December 16.
“The date of filing of Total Income/Statements of final taxation for Companies for the Tax Year 2019, which were due on 30th September, 2019 and extended up to 30th November, 2019, in respect of those companies who have paid ninety-five percent of the admitted tax liability on or before 30.09.2019 is hereby further extended up to 16th December, 2019,” the notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stated.
