Rukhsana Yasmin the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairperson said that investigation has been started against the Pakistanis who own properties in the United Kingdom.

She said, “The investigation is being conducted against those individuals who did not avail the government’s tax amnesty scheme.”

Adding, “We have received information of those Pakistanis who illegally own property in the United Kingdom. The data was received from UK Tax Authorities.”

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has also decided to issues show cause notices to 1,500 Pakistanis who had properties in the United Kingdom and Dubai.

FBR will issue notices in two stages. In the first stage, the notice will be issued to 1000 people who have properties in the UK.

As per an official “The FBR will dispatch these notices from its headquarters.”

Then in the second stage, 500 people will be issued notices who have purchased properties in the UAE.

As per FBR chairperson, the response to the tax amnesty scheme introduced by the PML-N government in between April 10, 2018, to June 30, 2018, was disappointing. Only 55,000 people availed the scheme. The scheme was a way out for the people who had unregistered properties elsewhere. They could have filed their assets and faced no consequences.

Now the expected next Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has made it clear that he will retrieve the looted wealth that was secretly placed in the UK by corrupt politicians. So it seems that those who are hiding any of their assets now need to be careful. It’s time to pay for looting Pakistan’s money for your personal aims and goals.
