FBR has extended the income tax returns filing date.
The Federal Board of Revenue has extended the date of filing the income tax returns/statements for the tax year 2019 until the 31st of December 2019.
A circular was rolled out on Monday regarding this, which mentioned that the taxpayers would be permitted to file their returns by the year end.
Earlier, the last data of filing was 16th of December, which expired today.
So far, this is the 6th extension since the revenue regulator first made the announcement on the 30th of June as the filing deadline.
As per some inside sources the shortfall in the revenue collection has encouraged for another extension of 15-days.
As per the reports, the revenue board has so far attained more than 1.9 million returns in comparison to 2.7 million for the previous year.
Generally the people were anticipating this extension news. Public was sure that the deadline would further be extended even before the official announcement by the revenue board.
On the other hand, it is expected that the electricity is to become more costlier. However, the consumers in Karachi would remain unaffected by this change.
