The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has given out notices to the famous medical centres across Karachi, asking for the income details of the physicians and surgeons.
As per a document given out by FBR, a large population of doctors and surgeons were found indulged in the act of tax evasion despite having been registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The information given would be cross-checked with the withholding statements filled by the hospitals and the consultants who are not filing the income tax returns.
The statutory notices would be given for filing the income tax returns, as per the document.
On the other hand, the federal government has announced Eid-ul-Azha holidays in Pakistan. The holidays are to start on August 12 and would end on August 15.
The joyous occasion of Eid is celebrated with great enthusiasm across Pakistan. The Eid festivities and greetings are celebrated for 3 days and later the BBQ season starts in the country.
