In the major shuffling of the cabinet yesterday in which Asad Umar resigned from his seat of Finance Minister, Fawad Chaudhry has been appointed as the Federal Minister for Science and Technology.
Fawad Chaudhry resigned from his present position as the Information Minister in which he was serving earlier whereas Firdous Ashiq Awan would be facilitating the Prime Minister as a special assistant on information for the time being,
Azam Khan Swati was the ex-appointed holder of the Federal Minister for Science and Technology and he resigned from the post following the forced transfer of an IG on a matter of dispute between his son and a family which was trespassing their lands.
Fawad Chaudhry holds the same educational background as Swati. He is a lawyer by profession and is also serving as an anchor person and a political analyst for many media organizations.
The Ministry of Science and Technology was running so far without the supervision of any Minister since December last year and it is now prime time that a replacement has been selected to take over the matters in the technology landscape since it is a major element of the economy and significant for the country’s growth.
