Recently, during a rain spell in Islamabad, a portion of the false ceiling of both the domestic and International lounges of the Islamabad International Airport collapsed.
A video went viral on social media which showed the panels of the ceiling coming off and falling down on the ground. The video also showed rainwater dripping from the ceiling and piles of the wreckages of the ceiling in both the lounges.
The damage caused at the airport due to the rainfall was reported two days ago. Nobody got injured in the incident. This collapse shows the poor quality of the construction work done at the airport.
Earlier on 23rd June, strong winds were blowing in Islamabad which broke a portion of the ceiling along with the glass door of the newly-built Islamabad International Airport. That also exposed the weak construction work.
Moreover, many other windows at the airport were broken, and also the boarding bridge that helps the passengers to move towards their respective planes was also damaged. The safety wall of boarding bridge 6 also collapsed completely due to the strong winds.
