Fakhar Zaman Rules out of New Zealand tour

On Monday, news came out that Fakhar Zaman Pakistani opener has ruled out of the New Zealand tour as he suffering from high fever. As per the schedule, the national cricket team is going to leave for New Zealand today but Fakhar Zaman will not be traveling with the team as he is currently isolating himself at the team’s hotel.

The management took this decision keeping in mind the health of the other team members and to give Fakhar time to recover soon.

The reports stated that the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) team shifted Fakhar Zaman to the isolation ward the moment he was detected with a high fever.

On Saturday, the PCB team carried out COVID-19 tests on every squad member including Fakhar Zaman which came out negative. But Fakhar Zaman was detected with a high fever the next day.

Sohail Saleem the team’s doctor stated that the moment he got a high fever, he was immediately shifted to the isolation ward. The doctor said that he is continuously monitoring his health but he is hopeful for his recovery. Currently, Fakhar’s condition is not fit to travel hence he has ruled out the tour.

Pakistani cricket team will play three T20s and 2 Test matches with New Zealand from the 18th of December. The team will spend 14 days in quarantine after reaching New Zealand.

In total 34 players will visit New Zealand which includes Pakistan’s first-team players and Shaheen players. The matches will begin next month.
