Faizabad Interchange to Remain Close for Traffic on March 21-23

Faizabad Interchange

The Faizabad Interchange would remain closed for all kinds of traffic on the 21st and 23rd of March while all the traffic for the twin cities would be diverted to Stadium Road.

The news about the closure of Faizabad Interchange was revealed by the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) on Wednesday after they made the final arrangement for facilitating the motorists of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on the 21st of March and on the 23rd of March. The reason behind the closure of the route is that on the 21st of March a full-dress rehearsal for the parade would take place while on the 23rd of March the actual parade would occur.

Muhammad Bin Ashraf—the Chief Traffic Officer of Rawalpindi said that the vehicular traffic would not be permitted to enter Rawalpindi and Islamabad from the Faizabad route on the 2 days, which includes the heavy vehicles.

He further informed that the CTP has formed a detailed traffic plan for facilitating the commuters of the twin cities on both days. For this purpose, as many as 336 traffic police officers and traffic wardens would be deployed on the different roads of the city for managing traffic.

He informed that diversions would be placed at the various locations along the highway linking the 2 cities. The commuters who wish to go to the federal capital from Murree Road would have to travel through Ninth Avenue while the ones traveling down the Ninth Avenue would have to enter Rawalpindi after taking a U-turn from the Double Road.

In the same way, traffic coming from Koral Chowk would be entering Islamabad via the Khana Pull Service Road, Rawal Road, Sadiqabad, Murree Road, Stadium Road, Chungi Number-8 and Bandh Khanna Road.

The CTO asked the citizens for showing maximum cooperation with the police personnel positioned so that the traffic problems could be resolved.
