The residents of the affected areas took the Twitter platform to report the outages, which were late restored.

“Due to a networking issue, the temporary outages occurred,” Facebook Inc. said in a statement.

The spokesperson of Facebook Inc., Jay Nancarrow said, “Earlier today, some people were having trouble while accessing or posting their content to the several Facebook services, including WhatsApp and Instagram.”

He further added, “We rapidly investigated the issue and started restoring the access, and we have nearly fixed the issue for everyone. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

A television network ‘globalnews.ca’ claimed that a web portal that monitors the website outages and malfunctions called Down Detector had reported the Facebook and its other services’ outage first.

Right after the issue has occurred, the hashtag #FacebookDown was started trending on Twitter.
