Pakistan’s first innovation lab has launched in Pakistan by Facebook. It is launched in Lahore at the National Incubation Centre at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
The lab will not just facilitate the developers and startups but it will also provide a learning platform for students and teachers through which they can connect with experts and gain knowledge about new technology.
It is basically a physical space allowing entrepreneurs to come together and participated in different workshops, seminars and learn new skills.
Facebook’s programme manager Jason Lin said, “Facebook aims to provide the best experience for startups worldwide. Our strong belief is that the future of technology is within the community. We have seen a lot of potential in Asia Pacific and we want to see more success stories.”
Head of Community Affairs Beth Ann at Facebook revealed that VR is an emerging technology that has now become normal.
Facebook Product Designer Maheen Sohail said, “Virtual reality and augmented reality is the future.”
She said that the approach Facebook is opting for is ‘people first approach’ and has a 10-year vision to achieve its mission.
Sohail disclosed that she was impressed by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy who uses the VR technology to tell some of the most interesting stories. She said that you can connect with people via social VR and be whatever you want to be.
