There has been a debate going on whether Nov 9, Iqbal Day will be a public holiday or not. As per rumors, the government will restore Nov 9 as a public holiday, contrary to the previous year.
There has been no official announcement made by any government body yet so all this till now is just speculation.
Allama Iqbal is respected and remembered as a man who played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s freedom movement through his revolutionizing poetry. He was a poet, philosopher, politician, academic, barrister, scholar, and called the ‘Spiritual Father of Pakistan’.
He was born on 9th November 1877 in Sialkot. To celebrate the day, events are organized countrywide in Pakistan and a public holiday is announced. Last year, the holiday was not given thus anything can happen this year. Only a confirmation by a government body will decide whether it will be off on Thursday or not.
