Karachi: Spokesman K-Electric has claimed that electricity has been restored in 95% of the areas of Karachi. Spokesman K-Electric Noor Afshan said in a statement that due to the accumulation of water in the city, there were difficulties in restoring electricity in some areas, and people in areas where power restoration work was difficult were informed in advance.
She said that water had entered more than 50 percent of the substations but they were in touch with the concerned agencies for drainage of water from the substations. Water also entered the basements of houses during the rains.
On the other hand, despite the passage of three days in different parts of Karachi, the power supply has been affected, including Surjani Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gadap Town, Bin Qasim, and some areas of Clifton. Protests were also held in some areas of the city due to power outages. The daily life of the citizens of Karachi is badly affected due to a lack of electricity supply. It is to be noted that even two days ago, K Electric had claimed that the restoration work of electricity in more than 90% areas of the city has been completed.
