The adviser to the PM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that electric rickshaws would be introduced in 3 major cities, with creative swappable batteries.
While talking to a Korean delegation, who called on him in the federal capital he said that the three cities include, Peshwar, Lahore and Sialkot.
The adviser also added that this would be a good step towards building awareness about climate change, and also mentioned that this project would help in the measurement of the feasibility and the testing grounds for the experts in the future.
The Korean delegation also gave a briefing to the adviser regarding the project and said that there would be 600 electric rickshaws all set to be released in nearly one month period.
While displaying the suggested models of the e-rickshaws, the Korean delegation explained that the swappable batteries of the e-rickshaws would be recharged in an hour and is t best technology that is environmentally friendly too.
The three-wheeler vehicle would be introduced with the collaboration of the Asian Development Bank and the local manufacturers in Pakistan.
Previously on the 27th of January, the first produced 3-wheeler electric rickshaw had been launched out in a special ceremony that was held in Lahore.
The event was arranged by the Climate Change Ministry which had been attended among others by the adviser to the PM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam.
