Ramadan 2020 in Pakistan began on April 25. Eid 2020 in Pakistan can be on Sunday May 24th or Monday May 25th. This year Eid would be quite different considering the coronavirus pandemic. Usually people wait for Eid holidays to spend time with family, but this time most of the country is already at home.
Eid celebration would also be quite different this year. Parlors, marketplaces, visit to friends, and family will be limited. Social distancing would be maintained.
It is important to mention here that in order to promote tourism, a double-decker bus service will begin in the twin cities after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The government has decided to launch the double-decker buses in twin cities after Eid, as revealed by the Punjab chief minister’s Adviser on Horticulture and Tourism Asif Mehmood. It will be launched to promote the culture of the Potohar region.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic the project got delayed. But now after Eid ul Fitr the bus service will be launched. He revealed that the Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) will operate the buses. The main terminal will be constructed at the Allama Iqbal Park double road.
Eid al Fitr is a celebration by Muslims, marking the end of Ramadan. It is the ending of a whole month of fasting for Muslims. So the day starts by Eid prayer, which is quite unlikely this year.
Even though Eid will not be the same with coronavirus pandemic, we can still try and celebrate it with our family and help poor people in this time of distress.
