In Saudi Arab, the Zil Haj crescent was not seen on Monday which automatically confirms that Eid ul Azha would be celebrated on September 1st this year that is Friday.
The Supreme Court confirmed the news by saying ‘Zul Hijjah crescent not sighted’. Now today the court will again conduct a meeting to issue the final decision. So based on today’s sighting, the month of Zil-Hajj will start from 23rd August. This means that the Day of Arafah will be August 31st and September 1st will mark this year’s Eid ul Azha.
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan will meet today under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. After the meeting and new moon sighting, it would be decided if Eid ul Azha in Pakistan will be on September 1st or 2nd.
All the markets, businesses would be closed on Eid holidays so make sure you complete your shopping beforehand.
