According to Social Protection organization, the newly launched Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program by Imran Khan is one of the best social protection plans around the globe.
In a recent post on Twitter, Social Protection mentioned Pakistan and considered it to be one of the best countries with a social protection plan for COVID19.
The remarks came under a conference under the International Policy Center for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG). Sania Nishtar represented Pakistan in the conference and briefed about Imran Khan’s Ehsaas program.
According to Sania, 97% of beneficiaries availed the funds during COVID19 to manage their cash shortages. She further told in the conference:

The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program was launched in March 2019 way prior to COVID19. The primary purpose of the plan has always been to eliminate poverty and to offer equal rights to every Pakistani.
During an internal meeting, Sania commented:
Work on the Ehsaas Governance Observatory has been ongoing for the last one year. We did a progress review today; the one year-stock take against the December 2019 baselines will be taken in December 2020.
All Poverty Division agencies implementing Ehsaas are meant to comply with the Governance and Integrity Policy. The Ehsaas Governance Observatory is meant to gauge the status of compliance with the Policy. We accord high priority to integrity in governance and delivery.
While PM Khan’s Ehsaas was nominated as the second best country in the Pacific Asia, Afghanistan is placed at the top in social assistance during COVID19.
