Jahangir Tareen—the strong member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said on Friday that his party would be fulfilling the promise of creating the province of South Punjab, as per the reports of local media.
While talking to the journalists in Lodhran, he said that efforts are being made for the formation of South Punjab province despite the tough conditions in the constitution.
He lashed out at the previous governments and said that heavy debts have been taken in the past tenures, which are being paid by the government of PTI. He said that the ones who looted the national account would not be spared.
While responding to a question, he said that the order of the special court in ex-president Pervez Musharraf treason case has created a high treason case that has led to disappointment amongst the Pakistani people.
The judges should refrain from making use of such words while giving orders, he said and further mentioned that this is a court order, and nothing more could be said about it.
The special court led by Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth has taken the decision of high treason case with 2-1 split verdict against Pervez Musharraf.
The high treason trial for the imposition of the state of emergency on the 3rd of November 2007, had been pending since December 2003. Pervez Musharraf was indicted on the 31st of March 2014.
The ex-military chief is presently in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. He is currently admitted at a hospital in Dubai in a serious condition.
