Shafqat Mehmood, the federal education minister has said on Thursday that all the educational institutes in the country will remain closed until the 15th of July. He announced the decision after the NCC meeting in the federal capital.
The minister also announced the cancellation of all the board examinations in the country as part of the steps to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
He also said that all the board exams are annulled and the students of the grades from 9th till 12th will be promoted to the next grade on the basis of their results obtained in the last class.
He explained that a student could apply for admission in a university based on the 11th class result.
The minister also said that the decision has been taken on the agreement of all the provinces and further said that the students will be able to get themselves enrolled in the next class as soon as the schools are reopened.
It is important to mention that on March 13, in mid of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the federal cabinet took the decision of closing all the public and private educational institutes all across Pakistan.
