The provincial authorities have taken the decision to close all the government and private schools across the province of Sindh for 2 days, as per the announcement made by the education minister Saeed Ghani on Wednesday night.
This announcement came after the first case of coronavirus emerged in Karachi city. But, Saeed Ghani’s announcement did not provide any specific reason for the closure of the educational institutes.
He announced that all the educational institutes are to remain closed on the 27h and 28th of February.
After this announcement, the government of Balochistan has also decided to extend its winter holidays until the 15th of March in view of the two confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Previously, 2 cases of the virus have been reported in Pakistan on Wednesday night after the first case of COVID-19 resurfaced in Karachi from a citizen who flew back from Iran with his family.
Dr Zafar Mirza, the Special Assistant to PM on Health, in a tweet asked the citizens to remain calm as both the patients detected with the virus are being treated accordingly with the standard clinical procedures. He further informed that all is under control and the lives of both the patients are stable.
