The memberships of as many as 318 lawmakers have been suspended by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday.
According to the details, the electoral body of Pakistan suspended the memberships of the parliamentarians for not submitting the relevant details.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has apprised the parliaments and secretaries of all four provinces that the lawmakers who were suspended cannot take part in the assembly proceedings and legislations.
The names of the lawmakers who suspended are, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Religious Affairs Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Sadaqat Abbasi, Aamir Kiyani, Sanaullah Musti Khel, Farrukh Habib, Raja Riaz, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Aamir Liaquat Hussain, Alamgir Khan, Abdul Qadir Patel, Burgess Tahir and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 70 members of the National Assembly and 12 members of the Senate have been suspended whereas, 115 members from Punjab Assembly, 40 members of Sindh Assembly, 60 members of K-P Assembly and 21 members of the Balochistan Assembly have been suspended.
On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan gives Bilawal Bhutto Zardari—Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party—two weeks to remove discrepancies in the details related to his assets.
