Bilawal Bhutto Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman says that the labor class mainly the daily wagers have been worst affected in the economic crises of the country caused due to the spread of COVID-19.
While the world economy was shrinking it was very important for the government to take care of the labor class. On the International, Labor Day PPP chairman said that the right-wing governments all over the globe are deciding to put profit in front of people.
According to Bilawal Bhutto, coronavirus has exposed all incurable flaws of the neo-liberal economic policies. Also, it has exposed anti-labor policies of governments who had served many people at less cost.
He further added that the Federal Government is responsible to guarantee the provision of relief to the poor and daily wagers in the middle of the pandemic crises.
PPP chairman also stated that the Sindh government has banned the firing of any employee in the lockdown. On the other hand, the government has provided rations to the doorsteps of those people who have become unemployed.
Bilawal Bhutto asked the federal government to provide the unemployed workers with financial assistance on the basis of the minimum wage which has already been set up by the government until and unless it gets safe to end the lockdown and allow people to go back to their workplaces.
