ECC approved the price hike of edible items at Utility Stores. The same has been notified to the stores.
According to the information, the price of ghee jumped up by Rs. 48 per kg; the new price would be Rs. 251. Similarly, the price of cooking oil has been increased by Rs. 29 per kg. The new price would be Rs. 273.
The price of shampoo (bottles) increased by Rs. 10 to 20, and tea whiteners by Rs. 21 to 32.
According to the report, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved partial rationalization of subsidies on wheat flour, sugar, and ghee rates because of continuous fluctuations in international commodity prices.
The ECC has advised offering maximum relief to the commoner despite a notable price difference between the Utility Stores Corporation’s subsidized prices and the domestic markets.
