An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude was felt in the several areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of upper and central Punjab today.
The people living in Mirpur, Jhelum, Sheikhpura, Lahore, Zafarwal felt the earthquake at around 12 pm.
According to the details, the center of the earthquake was close to New Mirpur city and Azad Kashmir and the magnitude was recorded 4.7 on the Richter scale. It has been reported that as many as 32 people have been injured in today’s incident.
It is pertinent to mention here that the death toll from the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Azad Jammu and Kashmir two days ago on Tuesday has risen to 38. On the hand, the number of injured people has risen to 500.
According to the reports, hundreds of houses have been completely destroyed which has forced the residents of the affected areas to live on the streets.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), rescue teams, soldiers of Pakistan, and the local government of Azad Kashmir are performing duties to provide shelters, foods, and other facilities to the affected people.
