Dubai Police introduced “Safety boxes” to prevent robberies in the region

The innovation lab of the Police department of Dubai is working on the 11 devices and methods to prevent and robberies and others crimes in the emirate. The devices are particularly manufactured for the jewelry shops and money exchanges to reduce and prevent the robberies.

Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Major-General Khalil Ibrahim, said that only Dubai has over 3,000 gold and jewelry stores with stocks worth millions of dirhams, that’s why it is very important to prevent the smartest robbers to rob the stores and shops.

“Dubai Police’s lab is designing a couple of devices which are first-of-its-kind crime prevention innovations in the world,” he added.

Anti-Crime Department of Dubai Police has introduced a highly secure safe box for the money exchange offices, jewelry shops and other places where money and other type valuables can be stored. According to the Major-General, the innovations lab has also conducted an explosives test on the safe box, and the explosives did not manage to break it open.

The safe also has some other security measures include the “Kaba lock” and unbreakable Solix lockers, the keys of the lockers cannot be duplicated. Moreover, if anyone tries to break the lockers, the safe will automatically release a thick smoke, and acting as an alert mechanism which includes an SOS alarm.

This steps taken by Dubai’s authorities are to make the emirate crime free zone.
