DRAP Reduces the Price of Remdisivir Drug by Rs.3,564


On Thursday, DRAP (Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan) has provided a notification to reduce the price of Remdisivir Drug a drug found to be effective in treating patients hospitalized with coronavirus, by Rs.3, 564.

The notification issued by DRAP stated that the new price of 100mg vial of the antiviral is fixed at Rs5, 680.

According to the reports, the drug regulator has asked firms importing Remdisivir to mention the drug price on its packet.

Previously on November 27, the federal cabinet had green-lighted a cut in the price of the antiviral drug Remdisivir.

Earlier, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) had recommended a 38% cut in 100 mg Remdesivir injection price and suggested fixing the rate at Rs.5, 680. A summary to this effect was sent to the federal cabinet by the health ministry for approval.
