Dr. Zafar Mirza, special assistant to PM on Health has ruled out the suggestion of the World Health Organization of imposing of 2-week lockdown across Pakistan.
As per local media, the WHO only takes the health-related matters in focus while the government has to take everything into consideration including the livelihoods of people as well.
He had the opinion that the coronavirus situation could be brought under control if people abide by the issued SOPs strictly.
According to some news reports, the private medical facilities are charging more than Rs.100,000 for just 1 night, which is more than what they are supposed to charge.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that the healthcare commissions are present in all the provinces and these bodies are responsible for keeping a check on the price and quality of the healthcare of private hospitals. He expressed his regret about the tradition in the country of making use of people and manipulating them during their hard times.
So far, Pakistan has reported 111,000 coronavirus infections and 2,216 deaths. Dr. Mirza said that situation is likely get worse in the weeks to come.
