Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan is of the view to build strong trade, economic, and defense relations with Nigeria.
In a meeting with outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner, Major Gen (R) Ashimiyu A Olaniyi, the president said Pakistan attached great importance to its ties with Nigeria.
He said Pakistan desired to further strengthen and diversify the existing relations to the mutual benefit of the two countries.
The president said both the countries needed to promote high-level contacts and visits which would further strengthen the relations.
Highlighting the cruelties by Indian forces against the Muslims of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), he requested the international community to play its role in the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and protection of the Muslim minority in India.
At the farewell, Dr. Arif Alvi appreciated the efforts made by the outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner for enhancing relations between Pakistan and Nigeria.
