It has been decided by the federal government to extend domestic flight operations suspension till May 29th. The decision has been taken amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, the airlines will be permitted to carry out the regular cargo operations, as per the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Flights that will be exempted from this suspension order will be chartered flights, private flights, and flights with special authorization from the federal and provincial governments.
After the outbreak of coronavirus in Pakistan, the international and domestic flight operations in Pakistan were suspended till 30th April. The decision taken was part of the lockdown imposed to control the spread of the virus. Then the domestic flight operations were suspended till 7th May.
Later, the suspension of flights was extended till 10th May and then till 13th May. Now the suspension of domestic flight operation has been extended till 29th May. The decision has been taken in view of the ongoing situation.
