Dhoop Kinare to Broadcast in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be broadcasting the ever-green Pakistan television series—Dhoop Kinare, this June. The series was first telecasted in the year 1987 in Pakistan.

As per the reports of Arab News this year Pakistan Television has selected the Sahira Kazmi directed serial besides Tanhaiyaan for broadcasting in the Kingdom.

Shahzia Sikander—the Director of International Relations at PTV, told that they have chosen the two most famous dramas—Dhoop Kinare and Tanhaiyaan for Arabic subtitles. She added that they have to send Dhoop Kinare to the Kingdom by June this year.

She also said that this is the first time that Pakistan Television is subtitling any Pakistani drama into Arabic for the Saudi viewers.

The on-air date of Tanhaiyaan is not yet announced.

Last month there was a press conference in Riyadh, in which Fawad Chaudhry—the Minister of Information unveiled that Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are in talks for increasing the cultural exchange between the two nations.

He said that Pakistan wants to take part in the cultural revival of the Kingdom and is bent on providing utmost support to the newly built academies of performing arts by sharing the expertise of the Pakistani actors, artists and directors.
