All illegal buildings will be demolished in Karachi, in response to the order given by the Sindh High Court (SHC). All buildings and structures that have been illegally constructed in the metropolitan city will be destroyed.
Justice Gulzar Ahmed has issued the order to demolish all the construction that is in violation of Karachi’s master plan.
While hearing the case of illegal construction in Karachi, Justice Gulzar said, “Let’s restore the city to its original 40-year-old position.”
Furthermore, Sindh Building Contol Authority (SBCA) was barred from issuing the No Objection Certificates (NOC) for development of commercial buildings. A two-member bench has made this decision comprising of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, and Justice Gulzar.
Justice Gulzar said, “No commercial building should be allowed construction unless the Environmental Protection Agency approves the projects.
Land in Karachi is being used for housing schemes that was initially approved for parks, hospitals, playgrounds construction. The court has ordered that the land should be immediately recovered.
He said that on government quarters, multiple-story residential buildings have been developed which is absolutely shocking.
The court asked, “Who’s giving permissions to build wedding halls, shopping plazas in every corner of the city. “Does their father own this city.”
