Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Pakistan will be observed on 1st December 2017 and it will be a public holiday. Eid Milad-un-Nabi is also called as Prophet Muhammad’s (P.B.U.H) birthday. On 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal Sunni Muslims observe Eid-Milad-un-Nabi.
In Pakistan 1st December 2017 will be Friday so we can expect an off unless our government changes that too.
Beliefs and concepts of people differ in celebrating Milad-un-Nabi. Some scholars don’t agree in celebrating and challenge the purpose of a holiday as per Islamic law. There is no proof from Prophet Mohammad’s life of celebrating events like anniversaries or birthdays, they argue. Other scholars believe that such events should be celebrated. So many Muslims globally celebrate Eid-Milad-un-Nabi with religious fervor.
The day begins with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial headquarters. Also, Pakistan’s national flag is hoisted in all major areas, buildings and facilities. In many households, something special is made and sent to neighbors and to the poor and needy community.
