Marvel’s superhero blockbuster movie, Deadpool 2 is set to be released across the United Arab Emirates in the original version on May 17. The movie’s release in UAE is a part of a close collaboration with the National Media Council (NMC).
Film distribution arm of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas is working with National Media Council (NMC) to bring and release movies in the Middle East on the same date as the rest of the world and are close to the original version.
A delegation of the National Media Council (NMC) was invited to attend a screening for Deadpool 2 in March while the film was still in post-production. This type of collaboration between the both parties had not been seen before in the film industry.
UAE’s National Media Council (NMC) officials recommended an 18+ certificate for the original version of the movie, in contrast to Deadpool’s first release in UAE.
“It is all about collaboration. We have involved The National Media Council (NMC) early in the process to work together to achieve the best outcome for the movie and audiences. This is just the beginning and we are excited to pave the way forward on all future releases to bring audiences great moments and the best in entertainment,” said Luke Vetere, MD of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas’ film distribution business.
Deadpool 2 releases in the United Arab Emirates on the 17th May 2018 in 2D, IMAX, and 4D. Tickets are now on sale through all cinemas in the UAE.
