Islamabad and Rawalpindi are preparing for celebrating the Pakistan Day on the 23rd of March with a military parade, the government has announced the daily five-hours airspace closure for parade rehearsals until the very day.
The airspace would remain closed for 5hours on a per day basis until the final day of the parade when the duration of the parade closure would be extended to 8 hours.
The airspace is being closed for permitting the space combat jets to display their aerobatics performance.
As per sources, in the initial phase, the airspace over the twin cities would remain closed from 09 am to 12 pm. During the time combat aircraft would start rehearsals for the annual March 23 parade.
In the second phase, the airspace would remain closed from 2pm until 4pm.
According to sources, during the parade rehearsal Pakistan Air Force’s air jet fighters would be flying low over the twin cities.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has already told all commercial airline about the possible closure of airspace and the schedule of all the commercial flights to and from Islamabad has already been changed accordingly.
In the meantime, the security in the federal capital has been put on high alert for avoiding any indecent incident before Pakistan Day.
