Traffic wardens have been told to delete games from their mobile phones.
On Sunday after getting many complaints that the traffic wardens have been found engaged in playing games on their mobile phones while on duty, the city police officer—CPO instructed the chief traffic officer—CTO to ensure that the traffic wardens do not have games on their mobile devices while on duty.
The matter was brought into the notice of CPO—Muhammad Faisal Rana at a public meeting. He has instructed the CTO to ensure that the wardens delete all games from their mobile phones and has asked for a report in this matter.
He also said that he would be conducting surprise checks on the traffic wardens at the different locations and that they would face departmental action if found inattentive.
As per a police spokesperson, the CPO has also asked for reports from the superintendent of police, the station house officers and the sub-divisional police officers regarding the implementation of his orders issued in a recent meeting with the MPAs and MNAs.
On Saturday, the CPO met with the parliamentarians and asked to indicate the rotten eggs in the department so that action could be taken against them once the issue is looked into.
Sheikh Rasheed Shafique, Chaudhry Javed Kausar, Taimor Masood, Haji Amjad, Shafique Khan, Chaudhry Sajid, Umer Tanvir Butt, retired Maj Latasab Satti and Raja Sagheer were among the parliamentarians present at the occasion.
