CPEC Project: Development of Education City in Gwadar

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) Higher Education Commission (HEC) held a meeting to discuss the current projects going on, the establishment of government university and educational projects in Gwadar.

HEC head Lt Gen (retd) Mohammad Asghar at the Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEM) said, “Establishment of Government University Gwadar in due time and duration is an important target for all of us.”

At the occasion, senior government officials and professors of universities were present including Dr. Ahmed Farooq Bazai BUITEMS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir University of Turbat Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Zafar Nawaz Quaid-e-Azam University Professor, & Abdula Jan Balochistan Higher Education Secretary.

HEC head said, “Best teachers and faculty will be appointed on merit only.”

Furthermore, the committee discussed the job opportunities that will open up after CPEC projects are completed. It was highlighted that the youngster of Gwadar must be provided with technical training.

Also, it was discussed in the meeting, how the world-class government university in Gwadar will be developed & constructed. Which programs & training courses must be part of the university were also discussed.

In the meeting heads of known universities & government officials took part, so that all pieces of advice can be taken into account & the best solutions are implemented. At the end, the aim of the meeting was to make decisions that can benefit Balochistan & the youngsters of the province.

BUITEM vice-chancellor Dr. Ahmed Farooq Bazai said, “Youth and students of Balochistan are not lesser than any of us. We have to equip Baloch youth technically in order to promote economic rehabilitation of the local people.”

Before this, the Vice-Chancellor welcomes the participants of the meeting and introduced them to the modern, new facilities part of the Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management.
