It has been announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan that the government is developing a China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority. The aim of this authority will be to monitor the projects and ensure their timely completion.
The prime minister chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on the CPEC projects. He said, “The authority would be most effective in ensuring timely completion of the CPEC projects, besides ensuring better coordination and cooperation among all the relevant departments.”
He said that CPEC is a practical display of the strategic partnership between Iron brothers.
According to the PM office media wing, the high-level meeting the Minister for Planning and Development Khusru Bakhtiar, Minister for Communication Murad Saeed, Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant Nadeem Babar were present along with the Board of Investment chairman, federal secretaries, chief secretaries of Punjab and Balochistan, additional secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and senior members.
The completion of the ongoing CPEC projects is the top priority of the government, as per the Prime Minister.
He said, “The completion of CPEC will not only benefit Pakistan and China, but also the entire region.”
