It has been asserted by the Norwegian scientist Birger Sørensen that SARS-COV-2 the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 infection is not natural in origin.
As per a recently published study carried out in tandem with British researchers, Sørensen claims that the spike protein of the SARS-COV-2 consists of sequences that appear to be injected artificially.
Also, SARS-COV-2 has properties that are significantly different from SARS-COV-, the coronavirus that was responsible for the SARS outbreak back in 2002-03.
The researchers believe that the lack of mutation in the SARS-COV-2 proves that the virus adapted with humans much before the outbreak occurred in Wuhan in late Dec 2019.
Multiple reports have claimed that China researched coronaviruses in the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) before the outbreak.
Back in April, unclassified cablegrams obtained by The Washington Post unveiled that US Embassy officials in Beijing raised alarms over the over inadequate safety standards at the WIV which carried out the study on coronavirus found in bats in Wuhan 2 years before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world.
Despite these claims, China has categorically denied all these reports. As per the Chinese government, WIV has never researched coronaviruses, forget SARS-COV-2.
