Recently, an order has been made to purchase 5000 coronavirus testing kits by the Sindh cabinet costing Rs.100 million in order to take precautionary measures against this deadly virus.
This announcement was made by Syed Murad Ali Shah Sindh Chief Minister while chairing a meeting at the CM House on Tuesday.
The safety kits were delivered to the selected hospitals in Sindh along with the screening zones that have already been set up.
The prices differ according to the different zones in Karachi. At Agha Khan Hospital, the price quoted to the patients was Rs.8,000 for the first screened patients. An update in the price was noticed this Thursday which is approximately Rs.1,050 for the screening and there is no need for appointments.
Whereas in Indus Hospital, the screening and testing for all patients is free of charge. The reason behind it is, the hospital is already been donated with Rs.100 million in order to set up the entire coronavirus operation setup. After receiving the required kits, all the operations were commenced today very swiftly as per reports.
In Dow Hospital and Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre, the virus testing is free of cost and the Dow hospital has also got an isolation ward available consisting of 10 beds.
