The Healthcare Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has imposed a ban on private diagnostic laboratories for conducting coronavirus tests in the province.

The spokesperson of the commission, in the statement, said that such diagnostic tests could only be conducted by the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad and Public Health Reference Laboratory, Khyber Medical University (KMU).

The spokesperson of the commission said that no permission has been granted to any private laboratory to conduct the coronavirus test in the province.

He further said that the Healthcare Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would proceed against the violators under the relevant laws.

On the other hand, Tom Hanks, the American actor and the filmmaker and his wife have tested positive for the coronavirus, the first celebrities to go public with a diagnosis of the virus.
