The coronavirus count has increased to 799 in Pakistan with 23 new COVID-19 cases reported in the country from midnight, as per the reports of local media.
As per the National Command and Control Centre for the COVID-19, 225 cases of the virus has been in reported in Punjab, 352 in Sindh, 31 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 104 cases in Balochistan, 11 in Islamabad, 71 in Gilgit Baltistan and 1 one case in the territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Till date, the novel virus has taken 5 lives, while 6 patients have recovered fully in the nation.
PM Khan has addressed the nation and briefed about the government strategy and the present development about the global coronavirus epidemic.
Prime Minister of Pakistan said that the lockdown is not being taken into consideration as 25 per cent of the population is below the poverty line who cannot survive if a complete fourteen-day closure of the country is done.
He provided details of the lockdown, curfew situation, and said that the situation demands armed forces and the security personnel patrolling roadways and streets and the forceful isolation of the public which he does not want.
