The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has given warning that the coronavirus outbreak will hit its peak in Pakistan by mid-June.
Fawad Chaudhry, in a recent interview with a local news channel said that three main concerns were brought up by the Coronavirus expert committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
One the sci-tech expert committee gave the warning that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases and death will increase manifold between the first and third weeks of June.
Secondly, the expert committee has suggested against the herd immunity as that idea is risky.
Also, the committee has stressed that coronavirus is not just flu. Precautionary measures must be taken against it.
Moreover, the expert committee has recommended against the approach of herd immunity as the idea is risky and could have deleterious consequences for Pakistan.
The Minister claimed that the only viable option right now is the smart lockdown policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that Pakistan can face a lot of damage if the lockdown is lifted without any precautions.
