In collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), the Ministry of Health Services has launched a web portal for the latest information and updates for the deadly 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-2019).
CEO of NITB Shabahat Ali Shah in a tweet said, “The NITB team In coordination with the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination has launched the online portal for the awareness of coronavirus. We are hoping that this tool will serve as an effective source of information for all.”
Also, the PM’s Special Assistant on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza in a tweet said, “In addition to the 1169 COVID19 helpline, we are also launching an online coronavirus platform for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the disease. Please go to app.nhsrc.gov.pk for more info and spread this among your friends, family and followers.”
Pakistan has recently confirmed two cases of coronavirus. Both of these patients recently came back from Iran. It was tweeted by Dr. Zafar Mirza that both the patients are stable and recovering. Until now, contacts traced and tested are all negative.
Also, as many as five women suspected of contracting the coronavirus from the Hunza area were admitted to the Pakistan Institute of the Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital in Islamabad due to the lack of the facilities to test and diagnose coronavirus in Gilgit Baltistan.
