‘Corona Chatbot’ launches in Pakistan to Address Concerns on COVID-19


‘Corona Chatbot’ has been launched by the Pakistani government. People can use this app to collect up to date information on COVID-19 pandemic in two languages that are English and Urdu. This was announced by the head of PM’s ‘Digital Pakistan’ initiative Tania Aidrus.

A bilingual chatbot is being developed to assist Pakistanis in the collection of related info regarding coronavirus. This includes data of laboratories for screening tests and doing a quick test to asses the virus risk by giving answers to a few questions.

Tania Aidrus in an announcement on Twitter said, “Our team wanted to build an effective way to get information out to Pakistanis. We’ve launched a chatbot to address common concerns on #Coronavirus. You can find labs near you and even do a quick test to assess your risk of #Coronavirus. Please try it out! http://messenger.com/t/NHSRCOfficial.”

You need to subscribe to the Facebook Messenger’s chatbox with Pakistan’s health ministry’s (NHSRC) official page via your social account.

People can collect or revise the data related to the symptoms of coronavirus using the platform.

The bot will ask you for your location if you search for the nearest labs. A list of laboratories will be provided for the screening tests of COVID-19.

Not just live updates of the virus will be given to the people but also essential info, symptoms, protection tips, assessing health risks to the person will be given to the users.
