A common expo center would be built in the 4 cities of Punjab which includes Gujrat, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, and Sialkot. For the mentioned reason the government of Punjab would be approached for land allocation.
This was agreed in principle by Abdul Razak Dawood, the advisor to PM on Commerce and Investment during an official visit to the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI).
The advisor acknowledged and lauded the role of the industry in the mentioned cities for their contribution to the overall exports of the country and gave the assurance that full support would be provided to the exporters and industrialists.
He emphasized that for having sustainable growth in exports, products need to be diversified into the developmental sectors and new markets should be identified including the Middle East, Africa, etc.
During his visit, the commerce advisor also discussed the development of fans, pottery, and furniture industries with the representatives.
The members of the association lauded the commerce ministry for the different steps and deliberations for promoting exports and for boosting the engineering sector, especially the latest measure for revising the rates of duty drawbacks for the electric fans.
