The current festivities of the holy month and the and the struggles that have been triggered owing to the global coronavirus pandemic, Coke Studio has released its message of hope. It has released Asma-ul-Husna, which are recited by Atif Aslam. It was released on the 14th of May 2020.
The entire recitation of the Asma-ul-Husna is 3 and a half minutes. It is a production of Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan alias Xulfi, while the video has been directed by Asim Raza, as per a press release.
Asma-ul-Husna is inscribed into the cultural memory of Pakistan. They had been recited by many and has many renditions. The latest version that has been released by Coke Studio demonstrates a multi-layered soundscape.
The Asma-ul-Husna starts with the sound of black hole collision, after which there are the echoes of Allah from the iconic Azaan of Makkah, the recitation brings 24 voices from all across the country for creating an acapella. A virtuoso musician, Melvin Arthur from Quetta Pakistan, has worked on creating the choir arrangements using the vocals from all across the world.
The entire composition is smooth and drops pleasingly on the ears of the listeners.
The release has come when the whole world is in a state of uncertainty, fear, and stress regarding the pandemic virus. The Asma-ul-Husna recitation is spiritually stirring and kind of reassures that better times are near.
