Imran Khan-led federal government of Pakistan has announced to give another extension of three years to the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
According to the information, a notification related to the extension of the army chief has been issued from the PM house.
As per the notification, the government took this decision while keeping the security and overall situation of the country in mind.
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure. The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,” the notification from the PM office reads.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed as the Chief of Pakistan Army in November 2016 by then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
