Chinese movies are to be displayed on the Pakistan cinema screens. This measure would help in diversifying the content for the Pakistani audiences, as said by the Director-General Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA)—Jamal Shah.
While talking in regard to the Chinese Film Festival presently going on at PNCA he said that there is need to get out of the Bollywood and Hollywood movies and to provide education to the audiences via entertainment and move in direction of the Chinese, Iranian and Turkish cinema.
Director PNCA added that the launch of the Chinese films would assist the local cinema industry in regard to providing entertainment and in boosting the industry economically.
He further said that these exchanges would finally lead in the direction of co-productions between the two nations.
Jamal Shah, while talking about the festival said that the objective to boost this festival is to provide a chance to the Pakistani movies to get the same space in the Chinese cinema industry.
He also indicated that they already had film exchanges with the European Union—EU, Germany and the United States of America however it was nearly non-existent with the Chinese films.
The DG-PNCA also said that China is one of the biggest film markets in the world. It would be of high benefit to the Pakistani cinema greatly if a chance is received to display the Pakistani content in China.
