The hi-tech companies of China including Oppo and Haier want to invest in the first-ever digital city of Pakistan. This was revealed by the K-P IT Board spokesperson Danish.
According to Danish, the Digital City Project of Pakistan is currently is the planning stage. For the first phase of the project in Haripur, K-P has allocated an area over 43,000 square metres.
According to the report, the construction work in the area is underway as it is fenced. The location is ideal as it is near the communication equipment producers including Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) and National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC).
Also, the project site is nearby the planned Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology.
According to Danish, the consultancy firm National Engineering Services of Pakistan (Nespak) is undertaking the responsibility for planning and designing the project. NRTC will be an important implementing partner.
Different information and communication technology (ICT) firms will be hosted by Pakistan Digital City. They will form different clusters including electronics clusters, software development clusters, and research and innovation clusters. 50,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created through it.
